Gross motor delays
Refer to delays in the development of large muscle movements that enable a child to perform activities such as crawling, walking, running, jumping, and balancing. These delays can affect a child's ability to meet key developmental milestones related to mobility, coordination, and physical independence.
Low tone (and increased tone)
Low tone: Also known as hypotonia, refers to a condition where there is decreased muscle tension, causing muscles to feel "floppy" or loose. Unlike muscle weakness (which refers to the strength of muscles), hypotonia affects the tension or resistance in the muscles when they are at rest.
